Passport Mobile App Launch Gives Back to Flint Community

Proceeds Donated to Foundation for Flint

Flint, MI- The City of Flint announced the latest way for drivers to feed the parking meter, and all it takes is a smartphone. The city has partnered with Passport, the industry leader in mobile payments for parking and transit, to give drivers the option of paying for parking from their phones. The new mobile application, PassportParking® will also be giving back to the Flint community, with all of Passport’s parking proceeds going towards Foundation for Flint Child Health and Development Fund for the next 6 months.

With Passport, drivers can skip the meter and securely pay for parking using their credit or debit cards. Users just need to register, choose their length of stay, and pay for their sessions. App users can extend parking from their smartphones, making it easier to manage their parking experiences.

Passport will donate all proceeds to The Child Health and Development Fund beginning in July to aid the long term health and development needs of Flint children exposed to lead during the water crisis. These donations will fund child health and development, continuous access to a pediatric medical home, access to infant and child behavioral health services, and crisis response within the community.

“As a partner to the City of Flint, it was important to us to become involved in the initiative. We hope that by encouraging drivers to use the app, we can make a significant impact on relief efforts for children affected by the water crisis,” said Bob Youakim, CEO at Passport. “We’re honored to provide any help we can.”

“The Passport team has already proven to be an outstanding partner to the City of Flint and its community.  We’re proud to introduce this new service to  the community making parking easier for everyone,” said Youakim. “It will be very exciting for drivers in the city to manage everything from the convenience of their phones.”

The PassportParking app is free to download from the App Store and Google Play. Users can also manage their parking at ppprk.com.
