GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT)– The City of Grand Junction is going high tech when it comes to how you pay to park.

Mobile payments are now an option in downtown Grand Junction.

The city on Monday launched its partnership with the payment industry leader, Passport.

Drivers can now pay for parking with a credit card, or they can download the free smartphone app called ‘Passport Parking’ to handle payments.

In the app, users can make secure payments, monitor parking sessions, extend parking time and view parking history.

Coins and smart cards will still be accepted at all parking meters and in the parking garage.
