ParkX, the City of Austin’s exclusive mobile pay parking app recently received a new application upgrade, due to the acquisition of ParkX LLC by Passport, the global leader in mobile payments for parking and transit. Passport also powers apps in Boston, Toronto, Chicago, San Jose, and Miami. Locally in Texas, Passport has also acquired operations through The City of El Paso and Corpus Christi, which also previously used ParkX LLC.

The update is available in both IOS and Android App store. The upgraded ParkX app will make the parking process even easier for users. Users can expect the same functionality as the previous app version, with a refreshed look and a new enhancement through the wallet feature, which allows users to preload parking funds onto the app, making it faster to pay for parking.

“We’re very excited to provide the upgraded version of the ParkX app and support the City of Austin in their technology initiatives,” said Bob Youakim, CEO at Passport. “This has allowed us to build upon the ParkX application to offer additional services and features to Austin users. Passport is passionate about providing the most innovative solutions in the industry. We look forward to building upon the partnership with the City in delivering tools that cater to their community’s needs.”
