Cedar Rapids continues smart cities initiative with launch of Passport Parking app

Passport partners with Park Cedar Rapids for new parking payments solution

Cedar Rapids, Iowa (Dec. 3, 2018) Park Cedar Rapids and Passport announce the launch of Passport Parking, a mobile app that allows users to pay for parking from their smartphones. Passport is the global leader in mobility technology solutions and serves nearly 600 clients worldwide and six cities throughout Iowa, including Iowa City and the University of Iowa.

The Passport Parking app replaces the previous app provider, PayByPhone. Passport Parking can be used to pay for parking at more than 2,500 spaces throughout downtown Cedar Rapids. In addition to paying for parking, users are able to:

  • Extend their sessions remotely
  • Keep track of all parking history
  • Receive notifications
  • Get email receipts
