Passport Parking now available in downtown Peoria

PEORIA, Ill. – There is now a new way to pay for parking in downtown Peoria.

Last December the city introduced Passport, a mobile app that allows drivers to make payments with their smartphone.

Officials hope the app will add convenience for drivers who frequent the downtown area. The Passport pilot program is now available at on-street parking meters.

“We’re thrilled to be offering this convenience to our parkers,” said Nick Stoffer, Traffic Engineer at the City of Peoria. “Especially with the winter season approaching, it will be helpful for parkers to move from their vehicle to their destination without standing in the cold.”

The service has successfully launched in more than 17 Chicago suburbs.

The PassportParking app is free to download from the iPhone App Store and Android Google Play.
