City has new paid parking phone app
NEWBURYPORT — City officials say that they are changing their pay-by-phone provider for parking.
City Clerk Richard Jones, who supervises parking in the city, said, “The city of Newburyport will be offering a new pay-by-phone provider. It is called Passport and is the same provider that Boston uses.
“It is less money per transaction for the consumer, has a larger potential audience, and includes state-of-the-art technology.
“The user downloads the phone app at m.ppprk.com, enters the ‘zone number’ and length of stay. Simple as that. The zone for each parking lot is easily visible from new signs placed in each parking lot,” Jones said.
Jones said that Parkmobile will no longer be offered.
