Passport Canada Launches Memorial University Mobile Pay Parking App

Memorial University Debuts Mobile Parking Payments App, Passport Canada

Passport Canada chosen to provide upgraded payment option

Newfoundland, Canada – The University today announced that Passport Canada has been chosen to provide smart technology for parking. The app is powered by Passport, the global leader in mobile payments for parking and transit, serving cities and universities throughout North America, Canada, and Europe.

Memorial University has launched the parking app for students and visitors to create an easier parking experience.

“We’re excited to provide smartphone technology to our students and visitors. It’s the wave of the future and it makes it easier for parkers to pay,” said Karen Alexander, Associate Director – Office of the Chief Risk Officer. “This payment option allows parkers to complete activities on campus without worrying about exceeding their parking time limit.”

The new Passport Canada app makes parking easy by allowing users to purchase parking with a debit/credit card from their smartphone.

In addition to paying for a parking session, customers can:

  • Pay for parking using a debit/credit card
  • Receive alerts when parking session is about to expire
  • Extend parking session remotely
  • View parking history
  • Receive email receipts
  • Get updates and alerts

The parking app will available at more than 600 parking spaces on campus. The app can be used to pay for parking where Passport Canada signage is displayed by using their vehicle plate information.

Passport Canada is free to download from the App Store and Google Play. Users can also manage their parking at ppprkca.com.
