Passport launches end-to-end parking management solution in City of St. Augustine

City to offer ParkStAug mobile payment app, digital permits and a new enforcement system powered by Passport

St. Augustine, Fla. (Jan. 30, 2019) Passport, the leading mobility platform, today announced the launch of a comprehensive parking management solution in St. Augustine. The city is rolling out a new mobile app to facilitate parking payments, ParkStAug, and has upgraded its parking enforcement software. Later this year, the city will also be introducing an online system for digital parking permits.

The ParkStAug app provides an alternative payment option for residents and visitors who park in St. Augustine. With the app, users can easily start a parking session and have the ability to extend their sessions remotely before time runs out. ParkStAug also includes a flexible duration selector, so drivers can see parking costs in real-time and understand how rates and rules may change in the future.

“The goal of St. Augustine’s mobility department is to efficiently manage how citizens move around the city and make it easy for them to pay for and manage parking,” said Reuben Franklin, mobility program manager for the City of St. Augustine. “With Passport’s end-to-end parking management solution, we have improved access to information and improved the ability to better control our operations, which ultimately benefits the people of St. Augustine.”

The city’s parking management operations are powered by the Passport mobility platform, which connects mobile payments, digital permits and enforcement in a centralized system, creating efficiencies and a more seamless experience. All of the parking systems share data in real-time, so enforcement officers, utilizing license plate recognition technology, can quickly see if a car has paid to park or has an existing permit. The city can also utilize data to track parking trends, revenue growth, and manage parking rates and regulations.

“We are excited to work with the City of St. Augustine to enhance their parking management system,” said Kelsey Owens, regional sales director at Passport. “Through our experience working with nearly 600 clients worldwide, we have seen the difference our solutions can make, improving the lives of citizens, city leaders, and parking enforcement officers.”

Passport currently works with more than 30 cities and universities throughout Florida including the nearby University of Florida, City of Gainesville, and the Jacksonville Transportation Authority, providing solutions for mobile payments, mobile ticketing for transit, enforcement, and permits.

Drivers can download the free ParkStAug app from the App Store or Google Play. Users can manage their parking, purchase permits and pay citations online at parkstaug.com.
