Grosse Pointe Woods partners with Passport to modernize parking and compliance management

City unifies enforcement, paid parking, and payment processing to drive compliance and improve the parking experience

Grosse Pointe Woods, Mich. (July 31, 2025) – The City of Grosse Pointe Woods, Michigan has upgraded its digital parking infrastructure with Passport, the most trusted technology partner for innovative curb management solutions. This collaboration replaces the city’s legacy system with a comprehensive digital platform aimed at optimizing operations, improving compliance, and enhancing the experience for residents, businesses, and visitors.

In June, the city launched the Passport Parking application, which is available to use at on- and off-street parking spaces across the city. After downloading the free app from the App Store or Google Play, a user enters the respective zone number, license plate number and the desired length of time for parking. Users can receive notifications when their sessions are about to expire, extend their sessions remotely and view receipts and parking history. Users can also conveniently manage their parking online at passportparking.com.

“Our transition to Passport’s platform has been seamless, and residents have already shared positive feedback about the ease and convenience of the app,” said Jim Kowalski, Director of Public Services for the City of Grosse Pointe Woods. “This upgrade is a significant step forward in improving the way we manage parking and payment processing, while also delivering a better experience for our community.”

Alongside the launch of its new parking management system, the City of Grosse Pointe Woods is also implementing Passport’s digital enforcement solution. This will streamline documentation, enable efficient citation and warning issuance, and improve resource deployment. The platform also includes Passport Payments, which offers cities—such as Grosse Pointe Woods—low processing fees and premium services within a secure environment designed to reduce fraud and chargebacks common in unattended parking transactions.

“We’re proud to partner with the City of Grosse Pointe Woods to deliver a modern, fully integrated curb management solution,” said Jake Breig, Sr. Account Executive at Passport. “By providing the necessary tools, we’re helping the city simplify operations and support more accessible streets for everyone who lives, works, and visits.”
