North Dakota State University Launches Parking App on Campus

Fargo, ND – The latest way to pay for parking at North Dakota State University is right from your phone.

The University has introduced Passport, a new app that allows students, faculty, and visitors to pay for metered parking from the convenience of their phones.

With Passport, users can:

  • Purchase parking using a debit/credit card
  • Monitor their session
  • Extend parking remotely (up to the maximum allotted time)
  • View all parking history

Passport’s app is already available in the City of Fargo.

The new parking app is now available at four NDSU parking lots. Passport signage displayed in the lots will notify where the service is available.

“Our students expressed interest in a parking app, so they can manage their metered parking by phone when they are on campus for class or activities,” said Brit Stevens, transportation manager at NDSU. “We’re excited to provide a tool that is responsive to their needs.”

Passport is the industry-leading parking payment app provider, powering apps for large cities like Boston, Chicago, Toronto, and Detroit. Passport’s solutions are also available on university campuses nationwide including North Carolina State University, Oregon State University, Michigan State University, and the University of Florida.

“We’re thrilled to introduce Passport to the NDSU campus,” said Bob Youakim, CEO at Passport. “With close to thirty universities utilizing Passport’s app, we’re excited to continue to make parking easier on campuses across the country and also expand our presence in the Fargo area.”

The PassportParking app is free to download from the iPhone App Store and Android Google Play. Users can also manage their parking online at ppprk.com.
