Panama City Beach introduces Passport Parking app
Vacation destination in Florida is now offering an easier way to pay to park
Panama City Beach, Fla. (June 1, 2020) — Beginning today, beachgoers and residents of Panama City Beach can pay for parking with a mobile app, using the Passport Parking mobile app. The digital application is powered by Passport, the digital platform that enables over 1,000 cities and universities to manage vehicle interactions on streets and sidewalks.
Users download the free Passport Parking app on their smartphones, create an account with a preferred method for parking payments and enter the zone and vehicle license plate number. In addition to paying for parking, users can view their parking history and extend parking sessions remotely so there’s no need to leave the beach.
“Parking should be the last thing Panama City Beach residents and vacationers should have to worry about,” said David Campbell, Panama City Beach community redevelopment agency manager. “Working with Passport to offer this mobile pay parking option will greatly enhance the parking experience and will allow us to further digitize our operations in the city.”
In the near future, Panama City Beach will also be implementing Passport’s parking enforcement solution. This will allow the city to digitally issue citations and process payments in real-time and from a single digital platform. Drivers will also be able to pay their citations seamlessly online rather than having to mail in a check or pay in person.
“Panama City Beach was in need of a modern, reliable solution to manage it’s parking operations – especially during peak tourist season,” said Kelsey Owens, Passport sales director. “We are excited for this partnership and to equip the city with the technology needed to create a more frictionless parking experience.”
Drivers can download the free Passport Parking app from the App Store and Google Play. Users can also manage their parking online at passportparking.com.
